  • Workshop B: Developing an Efficient C4ISR Network Across Armoured Platforms to Improve Battlefield Awareness and Mission Effectiveness
  • Workshop C: Developing Effective Strategies for Through Life Support and Armoured Vehicles Maintenance
  • Workshop D: Training and Simulation for Armoured Vehicles Operations in Asia

09.00 AM - 11.00 AM Workshop A: Enhancing Survivability and Protection for Armoured Vehicles in Battlefield Operations

Rationale

New and evolving threats to armoured vehicles can be seen in the recent IED and RPG attacks on allied forces in Afghanistan and Iraq. As the nature of these threats evolve, the issue of survivability and protection become increasingly poignant when discussing developments to armoured vehicles, to ensure the protection and effectiveness of both vehicle and personnel. Key questions will be addressed in this workshop, such as: What are the technologies utilised by armoured vehicles to prevent detection and direct attacks from insurgency forces? What kind of physical armour provides the most robust protection in battlefield conditions? How can one balance protection without sacrificing too much mobility? Which solutions have worked in various theatres?

Key Benefits of Attending this Workshop:

  • Understand the latest technologies and advancements in physical protection for armoured vehicles to assist you in choosing the right solution for your specific needs and requirements
  • Find out the ideal solution for each specific threat to empower your decisionmaking in shaping your force structure and armoured capabilities
  • Gain operational experience from manufacturers themselves as they design specific armour solutions to new and evolving IED threats to armoured vehicles
  • If you are a Tier-2 vendor, position your product in a small, personalised environment for you to network with military officers and prime contractors

11.00 AM - 01.00 PM Workshop B: Developing an Efficient C4ISR Network Across Armoured Platforms to Improve Battlefield Awareness and Mission Effectiveness

Rationale

The implementation and integration of C4ISR networks across various armoured platforms and between HQ and forces on the ground is becoming increasingly important for the success of battlefield operations in the field. This workshop will focus on the following issues: How do you develop and create an unbroken chain of communication linking orders from Commanding Generals to operational fleets? How do you ensure that your forces have as much information as possible to protect themselves on the field? What are the latest technologies and best practices in C4ISR that have been utilised in modern-day operations? What are the benefits of adopting an efficient C4ISR network across various armoured platforms?

Key Benefits of Attending this Workshop:

  • Learn what technologies are available for an effective C4ISR capability for armoured vehicles to assist you in understanding how they improve battlefield awareness
  • Learn how to develop an integrated and interoperable architecture for information sharing between existing vehicle fleets/services and coalition forces
  • Learn how to translate data into valuable battlefield information (Human Machine Interface) to improve mission effectiveness
  • If you are a Tier-2 vendor, position your product in a small, personalised environment for you to network with military officers and prime contractors

02.00 PM - 04.00 PM Workshop C: Developing Effective Strategies for Through Life Support and Armoured Vehicles Maintenance

Rationale

Maintenance and repair of armoured vehicles is paramount for any armoured fighting fleet. Turn-around schedules and vehicle life cycle support is crucial for both battlefield operations and the operational readiness of your armoured vehicles. This workshop will focus on developing the effective strategies to evaluate and maximise your vehicles’ life cycles. Critical topics to be discussed include: How do you strengthen the longevity of your armoured fleet? What are the best practices for maintenance and management systems to ensure a quick turnover of operational ready forces? How do you develop cost-effective vehicle survivability through total life cycle management?

Key Benefits of Attending this Workshop:

  • Reduce your maintenance, repair and upgrade downtime, keeping your armoured fleet operationally ready for deployment
  • Assess in advance the upgrades that will likely become necessary during the life cycle of your vehicle so you can effectively plan your capability roadmap
  • Manage the costs of upgrades by completing MRO work in conjunction with advance- scheduled periods of upgrade
  • If you are a Tier-2 vendor, position your product in a small, personalised environment for you to network with military officers and prime contractors

04.00 PM - 06.00 PM Workshop D: Training and Simulation for Armoured Vehicles Operations in Asia

Rationale

Training and simulation exercises are paramount for armoured fleets, especially in times of peace in the region. Training and simulation exercises also provide realistic experiences to keep armoured personnel and operational officers ready for combat. This workshop will focus on how to develop realistic training exercises and battle scenarios for armoured regiments, and also how to develop an integrated balance between basic training, classroom training and simulators.

Key Benefits of Attending this Workshop:

  • Undertake effective training exercises under realistic battle environments without endangering troop protection
  • Increase the battle effectiveness of your armoured fleet with training and simulators to keep them operationally ready and experienced
  • Develop better awareness of the evolving battlespace, potential future conflicts and force requirements
